FAQ
Fitment and measurements:
Q: My car isn't listed on the website! How do I know if a Legacy Ragtop will fit my car?
A: We make every Ragtop custom with every order. All we need to know is the make and model, plus the dimensions of the hole you are planning to cut/already have cut. We can do the rest!
Q: How do I know if I'm measuring correctly?
A: We recommend leaving about 6 inches from the front and rear glass when measuring for the length of the top and about 4-6 inches in from the roof's edge. Make sure your hole will clear the internal reinforcement structure on the under side of the roof around the perimeter of the interior.
Q: What about my sun visors?
A: The reason we suggest leaving at least 6 inches between the front of your hole and the windshield is so you have enough room to clear your sun visors and any sort of roof-mounted electronics such as lights and switches.
Assembly:
Q: I'm trying to bolt the rear cap down but there are two studs in the way! Can I just remove them?
A: Hold on - before you go any further, let us explain what those studs are. When we pre-tension the canvas, we tie two ends of a cable together and they terminate at those studs. Removing those nuts means releasing the tension on your Ragtop, which would be very bad. Instead, what you should do is use a paint pen or sharpie and mark the end of those studs. Gently lay the frame down on the paint where it's going to go, then remove the frame again to reveal the marks the studs just made. From there, you just drill holes in those spots that are slightly bigger than the nuts on those studs. Don't forget to use silicone sealant on those holes!
